I have FINALLY decided on a name for the film that I'm 100% happy with. As always, the name came later than it should have... (I'm pretty sure most animated films have the title decided at the very beginning). I've changed the name of this blog, so it won't be a big surprise, but the film is now officially titled: 'The Postman'

!

I really love this name and have decided to go with it for a few reasons, I love that the postman himself only appears twice but is essentially the most important character. By delivering the letter, he sets off the chain of events that occur. I like that he's only in two scenes but that he inadvertently causes so much chaos, and I also like that thought because it got me thinking about how in real life Postmen and women (post people?) could also be doing the same thing daily without knowing it. But on the other side of that, they could also being bringing a lot of joy to people with their deliveries. To be honest, before this film I hadn't thought much about the affect of postal service in general. Plus, I like how ominous 'The Postman' sounds, and that it's a bit of a trick title because if I saw a film called that, I would assume it was more centred around that character rather than the letter he's delivering and a baked bean sale.

For a while I dabbled with calling the film 'Wednesday' because the film takes place throughout the course of a Wednesday, but it never quite felt right, and felt more like a convenient name than one that I had really thought about. So 'The Postman' it is!

I might be jumping the gun a bit, but I decided to make a mock poster for if or when I submit the film to festivals (also because it was a fun distraction). Once the deadline and hand in are over, I'm going to work on it some more, and maybe make it look less flat, I like the layout but it could use more work. It's just a temporary design, but I like the feeling of it so far.

I wanted to have a tagline on the poster, and so far I've settled on:

'The tale of an anxious man, a baked bean sale and a mysterious letter'. I'm hoping that if people read it they'll be enticed to watch the film! I like having the words on the stack of bean cans, but am not sure about how distracting having the word 'beans' constantly showing is. But all changeable, and to be honest the poster isn't even necessary, just a fun side thing for the film!
